His Star

What was the Christmas star most likely? I believe it was some manifestation of God's glory. Not a convergence of planets.                                                             Charles N Janet Jennings

It was not a stellar phenomenon because it appears when Jesus is born and it started their journey. A fixed star follows the laws of heaven. This star appeared supernaturally at the exact moment of Jesus' birth. It was different that the magi recognized it as His star.
We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him. Matthew 2:4
This is prophesied in Numbers 24:17
“I see him, but not now;
I behold him, but not near.
A star will come out of Jacob;
a scepter will rise out of Israel.
He will crush the foreheads of Moab,
the skulls[a] of[b] all the people of Sheth.
The Scribes confirmed this when Herod asked them,
“In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
“‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’ Matthew 2:4-6
This phenomenon happened two years before:
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.
16 He gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were >>two years old and under<<<,
Why?
....in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.
After consulting with Herod the star reappears and moves ahead of them and stops at the house where Joseph and Mary lived. Jesus is a toddler at this time.
This is long after Luke 2
39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. 40 And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.
The text says:
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they >>>had seen<< (past tense) when...
>>it rose<<…a supernatural appearance.
>>(it) went ahead of them<< This phenomenon moves at the pace that the magi are moving to Bethlehem.
>>until it stopped<< over the place where [the child] (no longer an infant in the manager) was.
10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw [the child] with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Matthew 2:9-11

This means the star of Bethlehem is a special manifestation of light in the heavens that supernatural and operated outside the laws of the heavens. No natural phenomena behaves with intelligence that God was operating for His Star.
